LES CLASSIQUES is our set of two rectangular coffee table legs in flat steel, to build a living room table, a low bench or a TV unit with a clean industrial line.
Made in Montpellier, France, each leg starts as a single bar of flat steel 40 × 5 mm, bent four times: two corners at the top, two on the floor. The bar is never cut and carries no weld.
The frame is 530 mm wide and 400 mm high. Both ends fold flat over 95 mm and form the mounting plates, each drilled with two Ø 6.5 mm holes.
The two uprights run parallel: the footprint on the floor is as wide as the bearing under the table top, 53 cm in both cases.
Each leg holds 50 kg and takes tops from 30 to 160 cm long, at least 53 cm wide, in solid wood, plywood, marble, granite, glass or recycled plastic.
The eight powder-coated colours receive an oven-cured polyester powder: the film wraps the whole bar, edges included, and resists the moisture of a covered terrace or a conservatory.
The dark matt varnish does the opposite and leaves the raw steel visible, with its original surface marks; it stays indoors.
The set ships with 4 × 25 mm wood screws and self-adhesive rubber pads. Eight screws are enough, four per leg.
Place one frame at each end of the top, plates facing inwards, then screw through the holes. The screw passes 5 mm of plate and bites 20 mm into the wood: allow at least 25 mm of top thickness, or use a shorter screw.
On a solid wood top, do not tighten all the way: wood moves with room humidity and needs a little play.

A coffee table built from a bare top
An oak top of 120 × 60 cm, one frame at each end, and the table exists. The silhouette stays low and open: the floor shows under the piece and the volume does not weigh on the room. The 40 mm bar reads as a thin line head-on and disappears behind the top from the side. It is the shortest route from a board to a living room piece.
A new base under a tired coffee table
A living room table whose legs have aged is not thrown away, it changes base. Unscrew the old frame, screw on two bent frames, and the piece moves era without sanding or repainting the top. A yellow or green frame under pale wood is enough to rewrite the look of the sofa corner.
An entrance bench, an end-of-bed seat, a low TV unit
The same pair carries a 100 cm bench, an end-of-bed seat or a low TV unit. The 40 cm height puts the seat at the right level once the top is on, and the 53 cm bearing stays hidden under the top. In a narrow hallway the bench looks set on two steel lines rather than on four legs.
A table for a covered terrace
Under a pergola or in a conservatory, the powder-coated colours hold against moisture. Pair them with a recycled plastic or stone top and the terrace table echoes the one indoors. The dark matt varnish, which leaves the steel bare, stays dry inside.
Matching coffee tables for contract projects
In coworking spaces, shops or hotels, the set makes a run of matching tables around one given top, with the same colour from one piece to the next. The frames are cut, bent and powder-coated in our Montpellier workshop and held in stock, so an identical reorder is still possible months after the first one.

These steel table legs are ideal for tops from 30 to 170 cm long, and from 53 cm wide (the leg is 53 cm wide)
Each leg can support 50 kilos, for a total weight of 100 kilos for two legs. Depending on your project and the type of table top you're going to use, certain legs may be more or less suitable.
What material should I use for my table top?
Our legs are designed for use under wooden tops (rough, solid, plywood). You can also use marble, granite, recycled plastic or glass tops.

This table base is available in nine professional-quality finishes that don't just look good - they protect.
Fine-texture powder-coated finishes: matt black (RAL 9005), high-gloss white (RAL 9003), cream (RAL 9001), green (RAL 6011), yellow (RAL 1023), blue (RAL 5002).
Metallic sandblasted effect powder-coated finishes: copper (90354), gold (Y2316F).
Powder coating involves baking electrostatic polyester powder at 200°C. The result? A 60-80 micron protective coating that resists :
- Humidity: Rust-free, sheltered outdoor use (covered terrace, veranda)
- UV: No discoloration in sunlight
- Impact: Harder than simple varnish
- Corrosion: Integrated anti-corrosion protection.
