LE FIDÈLE is the wall mounted hair dryer holder that lifts the appliance off the vanity unit and stores the cord with it, in the bathroom as much as in the bedroom.
Made in France, in Montpellier, from a single sheet of galvanised steel 1.2 mm thick, it takes up 14 cm across and 10 cm deep: a back plate flat against the wall, a shelf reaching forward 100 mm, and a front lip turned up 30 mm, split in the middle by a 50 mm notch running 65 mm back.
The body of the hair dryer lies across the shelf, the handle drops through the notch, and the appliance comes back to hand without moving anything around it.
Those 30 mm of turned-up lip do the work: they stop the appliance rolling forward off the shelf, nozzle first.
Either side of the notch, the two rounded returns give the cord something to wind around, and a side slot takes the plug, which stays hung up instead of trailing into the basin.
The holder carries 3 kg, several times the weight of a domestic hair dryer.
The steel arrives galvanised: the zinc layer is applied to the sheet before cutting and protects the metal under the paint, including where the film wears thin.
The holder is then folded from one piece, with no weld, so there is no starting point for corrosion.
Finally, the powder coating in matt black RAL 9005 or cream RAL 9001 is oven-cured: the powder polymerises into a continuous film that also covers the folded edges and the cut edges, where liquid paint thins out.
These three layers of protection let it take the steam of a closed bathroom, morning after morning.
The double-sided 3M adhesive strip is supplied: no drilling into the wall, no screws or plugs required.
Clean the surface with 70° alcohol, remove limescale with white vinegar if needed, dry it fully, then press firmly for 30 seconds across the whole back plate. Leave it 12 hours before setting the hair dryer down on it. The bond is designed for smooth, clean, dry surfaces: tile, glass, painted metal, laminate, smooth painted wall.
Porous walls, bare wood, crumbling plaster and rough surfaces are not suitable.
The same approach works for the rest of the room: LE MOUSSANT to hold a bar of soap, LE RESSOURÇANT to keep shower gel and shampoo in the shower.
When the vanity top runs out of room.
A hair dryer laid flat eats thirty centimetres of surface, and it is always the thing you move to reach something else.
It slides behind the tap, drops into the basin, and drags its cord along with it.
Stuck to the wall beside the mirror or on the side of a wall-hung unit, LE FIDÈLE gives the surface back to what belongs on it.
The 4-slot toothbrush holder clears the rest of the top on the same logic.
The cord is the real subject.
What clutters the room is not the appliance, it is what hangs behind it.
A two-metre cord coiled by hand unwinds on its own, catches on the tap, and ends up wet.
Here it winds around the two front returns and the plug sits in the side slot: nothing sticks out, nothing hangs towards the basin.
In the morning the appliance comes off with one hand, the cord unwinds in a single motion, and it goes back to the same place at night.
In the bedroom, beside the dressing table.
Drying does not always happen in the bathroom.
Fixed to a bedroom wall, at the edge of a dressing room or against the side of a dressing table, LE FIDÈLE gives the appliance a fixed place, out of the drawer where its cord tangles.
Nothing to drill means nothing to fill in afterwards: that matters as much in a rented flat as in a shared building, and on a wardrobe panel you would rather not go through.
A 176-gram accessory built to last.
In use, powder-coated steel does not tire the way injected plastic does: it does not yellow in steam, does not turn brittle, does not split at the fold under the repeated weight of the appliance.
It is one piece of steel folded once, with no weld and no assembly, with nothing that can work loose.
There is nothing to maintain on it beyond a wipe and a dry cloth to keep limescale marks off.
At the end of its life it goes to metal recycling, whole.
